TEAM COACHING
A team is only as strong as its weakest link. The sum is greater than its parts…
Organizations and companies that retain my services for team coaching1 usually do it because they are facing the following situations:- Lack of vision and of clarity concerning the direction that the organization should take, the steps to take and the strategic actions to put in place in order to reach desired goals.
- Difficulty to lead positively, to develop and maximise management skills and to capitalize on employee strengths.
- Faced with the challenge of knowing what type of executive you are and having to actualize the way you see yourself, including your strengths, natural talents, limits and positive or negative patterns.
- Difficulty communicating in a healthy and efficient way with various management levels and difficulty maintaining an efficient and stimulating work environment.
- It has become a challenge for departments/teams to become organised, to work together and collaborate, to communicate and keep individual and collective priorities and goals in focus.
- Hesitation to make decisions regarding growth, expansion, reduction or managing change.
- Difficulty to recognise and pinpoint habits, behaviours, beliefs, decisions and actions that hinder development and keep the company and its resources from moving forward.
- Lack of vision and of preparation revolving around the new upcoming generation of executives within the organization. Difficulty in figuring out where to start and how to go about it to ensure continuity.
- Difficulty to take the time to study the situation and clarify the next steps to take. Constant state of emergency and overload.
Duo Coaching
This format is for companies and organizations that wish to be coached at the executive or associate level in situations where 2 individuals need to work in partnership in order to determine the orientation to take and choices to make for the good of the company, now and in the future. (For example: starting a company, a project aimed at the new generation of executives in the company or management of corporate growth/reduction).
This form of coaching has proven to be quite powerful and efficient. It offers the possibility of individual as well as team coaching. It considers the individual profiles of the 2 people who are being coached, their strengths and limitations, their distinct and shared roles and responsibilities and favours a balance between both respective styles of management and communication, particularly when observing the significant differences between these individuals.
- Step 1: Evaluation of needs and assessment
In a coaching process and relationship, it is important to determine whether I am a good resource for you, i.e. whether I offer the services that you really need and whether I am the best coach for you. It is also essential that we have the right chemistry between us and that you feel that I can help you reach your goals.
To verify this, I usually start by an initial evaluation of your needs and a complete assessment of your current situation in order to pinpoint what the next steps would be for you and whether a coaching process is truly the solution that you need. This process is done via the coaching questionnaires that you must fill out and that will help you to clarify and identify your true needs and the goals that you want to reach. It is also the occasion for you to experience a preview of my coaching style and of what I can do for you.
There are no obligations at this point and you do not have to continue working with me or to invest in a coaching process if you feel that this is not the ideal solution for you at this moment. You will come out of this meeting with clarity, an action plan, resources, new energy and knowledge about what a coaching process represents.
Length of the 1st meeting: 2h30
Rates: $400+taxes – including questionnaires and analysis - Step 2: Coaching process
The coaching process is based on a monthly package rate. This means that the process is continuous over a period of time but on a monthly basis vs. hourly, or weekly. This creates a momentum and produces consistency and rhythm that helps maximize the coaching process and reach set goals even after the coaching process is over.
This monthly package includes:- A coaching kit that includes certified coaching tools and questionnaires that will help identify needs, stakes, challenges and goals that should be considered throughout the process.
- One on-site, face-to-face session with both clients, lasting 90 minutes during the first week of the month.
- One 45-minute to 1-hour telephone session with each client, individually, during the third week of the month.
- Unlimited “laser” sessions between pre-determined regular sessions : 10- to 15- minute sessions for when the client feels the need to contact the coach without waiting for the next session (for example, to validate a decision that needs to be made, or in case the client is having difficulty taking action in a particular situation). These exchanges can be done via telephone or e-mail.
- Preparation for the sessions by the coach and the client.
- A series of questionnaires, evaluations, coaching tools and resources that support and facilitate the client’s process in consideration with his/her needs.
- Punctual evaluations designed to recognize good moves and highlight what works well and what may hinder or prevent the client from reaching set goals or obtaining desired results.
This format is a process that usually lasts several months and sometimes more than a year depending on the situations that present themselves within the organization as the process goes on.
Team Coaching within an organization
This format is for companies and organizations that wish to offer precise support and help to their management teams or to their subordinates regarding the situations described at the beginning of this section.
This type of coaching is usually punctual in time and short term. It can be followed by an individual coaching process or a duo coaching process if the situations and desired goals call for this type of intervention.
It is also a very effective format because it considers the natural profiles and behaviours of each team member as well as of the organization. The results of such a process will favour and maximise increased levels of quality and efficiency in communication, comprehension, motivation, satisfaction and cooperation within each team and the organization in general.
The format, content and frequency of such a coaching service may vary depending on your organization’s needs. A case by case evaluation needs to be done.
1 Qualified companies can benefit from a grant of coaching fees via Quebec Employment Services.
